Born in Sicily, Alessio Masi is a young pianist acclaimed for his pianistic eloquence and outstanding interpretative creativity.
Masi has performed extensively as a soloist in relevant venues including the Klavierhaus in New York, Museo Teatrale alla Scala di Milano, Foyer del Teatro del Maggio Musicale Fiorentino, Sale Apollinee del Teatro La Fenice, Invernadero de Arganzuela di Madrid, Schimmel Hall a Braunschweig, Biblioteca Palàcio Galveias a Lisboa, Salone d'Onore della Triennale di Milano, Teatro Niccolini di Firenze, and Palazzo Branciforte in Palermo. Equally, he has been regularly invited to perform at Music Festivals such as Orbetello Piano Festival, Nei Suoni Dei Luoghi, Piano City Milano, Piano City Palermo, Careggi in Musica, amongst others.
He is currently sponsored by Hermès Italia, and has been awarded prizes at numerous national and international competitions, amongst of which he obtained First Prize at the ‘Andrea Baldi’ XII International Competition (2023), and First absolute prize in the ‘Hermès per i Talenti’ (2022), receiving a three-year scholarship and a special invitation to the Verbier Festival in Switzerland, which he attends every year as one of the few italian pianists guests of the VFA. He has been chosen for the ‘Attraverso i Suoni’ (2023) Project by Agimus Firenze and he has been selected as a semifinalist of the "Schimmel Piano Competition" in Braunschweig.
Selected as one of the most notable students of the Conservatorio F. Venezze in Rovigo, he will soon release his first album with Brilliant Classics, a record entirely dedicated to Nino Rota's Piano Works. Masi has been also singled out by the Conservatorio L. Cherubini in Florence and been asked to perform Beethoven’s Sonata Op.106 “Hammerklavier” as part of a musical festival dedicated to the composer’s complete sonatas.
He has worked as répétiteur for the Taormina Art Opera Festival (2023) under the direction of Beatrice Venezi and alongside internationally acclaimed soloists such as Marcelo Álvarez and Massimo Cavalletti.
Alessio Masi is currently studying piano under the guidance of Roberto Prosseda, Alessandra Ammara and Federico Nicoletta.
He has received piano masterclasses by Roland Pöntinen, Inna Faliks, Jed Distler, William Grant Naboré, Pietro De Maria, Roberto Prosseda, Andrea Lucchesini, Alexander Malofeev, Maria Narodystka, Maurizio Baglini and others.
Masi is also active in other musical genres where he plays the Piano, the Guitar, the Synth and the Keyboards, and has collaborated in a wide variety of projects ranging from Noise Rock, Post-Rock, and Progressive Rock, to Doom Metal, Pop, Soul, Funk and Jazz.
