Born in Sicily, Alessio Masi is a young pianist and composer acclaimed for his pianistic eloquence and great interpretative maturity.
He is the winner of the first absolute prize at the “Hermès for Talents” Competition, which granted him a three-year sponsorship from Hermès Italia and a European tour organized by the H.Y.T.A. project. Ha also received a special invitation to the Verbier Festival, where he attends annually Visiting Student of the Verbier Festival Academy.
He was awarded the Second Prize, the Audience Prize, and a Special Mention for the performance of a contemporary work at the Premio Brunelli 2025. This recognition also marked his debut at the Teatro Olimpico in Vicenza, where he performed Beethoven’s Fifth Piano Concerto with orchestra.
He is currently supported by the Robert Turnbull Piano Foundation in London for his recording projects and has been selected by the Keyboard Charitable Trust as a new solo artist represented by the agency. He has given interviews for RSI, RTC and Radio In, with national broadcasts of his piano recordings.
He has performed in numerous prestigious venues and theaters across he United Kingdom, Portugal, Spain, USA, Germany and Italy, sharing his interests in the story of Italian Piano Music and the musical legacy of Bach through recitals composed of music with strong thematic connections, which he personally introduces to the audience.
In 2025, his album entirely dedicated to the piano music of Nino Rota will be released in collaboration with the Brilliant Classics label. The project is realized as part of the “Play & Rec” Master at the “F.Venezze” Conservatory in Rovigo.
He has been admitted to the Manhattan School of Music in New York for the Professional Studies Course in Daniel Epstein’s Class, which he will begin in September 2025.
He is currently studying piano under the guidance of Alessandra Ammara and Roberto Prosseda.
He has attended masterclasses with Roland Pöntinen, Inna Faliks, Jed Distler, Maria Narodystka, William G.Naborè, Alexander Malofeev, Andrea Lucchesini, Pietro De Maria, Maurizio Baglini and others.
Masi is also active as a composer and will soon release his first album of original piano music.
