BIOGRAPHY (DOWNLOAD BELOW)

Born in Sicily, Alessio Masi is a young pianist and composer acclaimed for his pianistic eloquence and remarkable interpretative maturity. He is the winner of the First Prize at the “Hermès per i Talenti” competition, which awarded him a three-year sponsorship from Hermès Italia and a European concert tour as part of the “H.Y.T.A.” project. He also received a special invitation to the Verbier Festival in Switzerland, where he returns each year as a Visiting Student of the Verbier Festival Academy.

He has performed in some of the most renowned concert halls and theaters, including Klavierhaus in New York, Steinway Hall in London, the Teatro Olimpico in Vicenza, the Teatro alla Scala Museum in Milan, the Foyer of the Maggio Musicale Fiorentino, the Apollinee Halls of Teatro La Fenice in Venice, the Ancient Theatre of Taormina, and the Schimmel Hall in Braunschweig, among many others. As a soloist, he has collaborated with the Filarmonia Veneta Orchestra and the Orchestra da Camera Fiorentina.

Masi has taken part in numerous piano festivals in Italy and abroad, such as Piano City Milano, Piano City Palermo, Piano City Madrid, Piano City Lisbon, Palermo Classica, the Puccini Festival, Terre d’Arezzo, Musica Riva Festival, and the Orbetello Piano Festival. In these settings, he presents recital programs built around strong thematic connections, often introduced personally, through which he deepens and shares his passion for Italian piano music and the musical legacy of J.S. Bach.

He is the winner of the Second Prize, the Audience Prize, and a Special Mention at the Premio Brunelli 2025. He also won First Prize at the “Andrea Baldi” Competition, received a Special Mention at the “Ocean Competition” in Brooklyn, and was selected for the “Attraverso i Suoni” project by Agimus Firenze.

He is currently supported by the Robert Turnbull Piano Foundation in London for his recording projects and has been selected as a solo artist of the Keyboard Charitable Trust. He has given interviews for RAI 1, Radio Svizzera Italiana, Rete Toscana Classica, and Radio In, with national broadcasts of his performances.

In 2025, he will release his debut album entirely dedicated to the piano music of Nino Rota, in collaboration with Brilliant Classics. The project is part of the “Play & Rec” Master’s Program at the Conservatorio “F. Venezze” in Rovigo.

He was admitted to the Manhattan School of Music in New York, where he is currently enrolled in the Professional Studies Program under the guidance of Daniel Epstein. He previously studied piano with Alessandra Ammara and Roberto Prosseda in Florence, and with Enza Vernuccio in Palermo.

In addition to his work as a performer, Masi is also active as a composer, and is soon to release his first album of original piano works.
